Trailer Hitch for 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited

Question:
I have a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited 2.0 Turbo 235 HP at 6000 tons, torque 260 ft-lbs. @ 1450 rpm which I want to tow 2000 pounds motorcycle plus trailer. The literature on the car says it can tow up to 3500 pounds but Im seeing others say at that capacity you need electric trailer brakes. Im only towing 2000 pounds. Do you have a hitch for this car AND do you feel Ill need the brakes?

Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe we have the Curt hitch part # C13195 which is a confirmed fit and would do a great job for a smaller trailer like you plan to tow. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well. Usually trailer brakes and a brake controller are recommended when the gross trailer weight, loaded and ready to tow, is greater than 1/2 of the vehicles weight, or over 2,500 pounds.
I looked up the weight of your Santa Fe and it looks to be right at 4,200 lbs so a controller technically wouldn't be needed.
