Trailer Lights Not Working on 1999 Ford F-250 After 7-Way Install
Question:
bought 118243 to use on my 1999 f250, plug it into the other plug but I am only getting a hot connection, when testing the turn signals, I am not getting anything from the new plug, no trailer lights what so ever, where do I need to start, thanks for the help

If you are testing the pins inside of the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness part # 118243 and none of the circuits are active then you most likely have a few blown or missing fuses. However, there could also be an issue with the connectors so make sure to test the wires leading up into them and after to make sure power is not stopping at one connector. I have attached for you the fuse locations you will need to check below that relate to the trailer towing circuits on your 1999 Ford F-250. These circuits will all be in the power distribution center (PDC) which is just a fancy word for the under hood fuse box.
# 1 - 7.5A Trailer Tow Left Stop/Turn Lamp
# 3 - 7.5A Trailer Tow Right Stop/Turn Lamp
# 4 - 20A Trailer Tow Backup Lamps, Trailer TowPark Lamps
# 8 - 15A Trailer Tow Park Lamp
# 16 - 30A Trailer Tow Battery Charge
# 28 - 30A Trailer Tow Electronic Brake Controller
