The NC on your Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller # TK90160 is simply showing power to the brake controller without a trailer connected. It should do this and display for a 15 seconds before going away. The NC means the brake controller is seeing no trailer connection.
The button being pushed should not show anything when a trailer isn't connected. When a trailer is connected it would give you a power output range between 0.0 volts and 13 volts. I've attached a photo of part of the owners manual and have attached the complete manual labeled installation details to assist.
