can I tie into an dome light wiring and not use the light. and what size wire is needed?

The MaxxFan Vent part # MA00-06401K draws 5 amps. If you used your dome light wiring you'd need to make sure the circuit had the amperage rating for that. I'd use 10 gauge wire if you were running new wire like our part # 10-1-1 which we offer sold by the foot.
