Towing Capacity of 2012 Chevy Traverse
Question:
We have an all wheel drive, 2012 Chevy Traverse LTZ without the manufacturer tow package. We recently bought a 21' camper with dry weight of 3500 lbs. Can our Traverse handle this load? If not, what do we need to do to be able to tow this camper? Thanks.

Everything I am seeing for your 2012 Chevy Traverse shows a 2,000 lb towing capacity. There's nothing can be done to increase the towing capacity of a vehicle so your best option would be to either find a smaller trailer or a larger tow vehicle. You can confirm the towing capacity by checking the owners manual of the vehicle or with a Chevy dealer.
We have hitches like the Draw Tite part # 75528 which are confirmed as a fit for your vehicle and have higher towing capacities than you'd need but you will always be limited by the lowest rated component in your towing setup as the overall capacity.
