Question:
I had a Subaru trailer hitch installed as part of my purchase package. Would I be able to tow a pop up trailer with this set up ? Thank you,

You may be able to tow a pop up trailer with your 2017 Subaru Forester if it is a small camper. When you have a trailer hitch installed on your Subaru Forester, like the Draw-Tite # 75876, your vehicle is rated to tow a trailer weighing up to 1,000 lbs according to page 8-19 of your owner's manual.
If the trailer has brakes and you have a brake controller, like the Prodigy P3 # 90195, installed to utilize the brakes then the max trailer weight is increased to 1,500 lbs.
For a Forester with a 4-Way flat already installed you just need to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 to install a brake controller. This includes everything needed for a fully functioning 7-Way. If you don't have a 4-Way then I recommend installing the T-One # 118467 first.
