Question:
My car gets back feed from my pop up trailers deep cycle battery. My understanding is that this Hy-Power diode RM-790 will work for this application. can you please provide installation instructions. Will this diode be installed on the trailer or car? what are the wiring instructions? i thought i will only use one positive wire 12v however i see that this diode has 3 connections.

A diode is designed to stop the reverse flow of current in an electrical circuit. Therefore yes, a diode will prevent backfeed to your vehicle from the trailer's battery. The part you referenced part # RM-790 has a dual in, single out function generally used on taillights with multiple power sources.
In your case, you will want the Roadmaster Single Park Light Diode part # RM-690 in order to eliminate back feed. To install the diode, you will need to severe the 12 volt hot lead from the deep cycle battery between the battery and 7-way connector. The diode will need to be placed on the trailer. There should be a set of instructions included with the kit.
