Question:
Hi- I am looking at the Curt Product: C55384. Can you tell me, the 4 wires that extend to the plug, what do these wires power? I see green, yellow, brown, white. Is this L, R, side marker lights, ground? No reverse?? Thanks

I can certainly help you with that.
Since the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # C55384 is a 4-way connector the four functions will be Yellow for the left turn and brake, Green is for right turn and brake, Brown is for running lights, and the White is the ground wire that gets attached to a clean metal surface.
For the reverse light function you will need a 5-way trailer connector and you can use the fifth wire to attach to the reverse light circuit on your vehicle. You will want to make sure you have the reverse lights wired to a 5-way connector on your trailer as well.
For your vehicle you could use part # HM47900. You would have to cut off the 4-Way and replace it with the 5-Way. For the reverse light wire you will need to locate that on the vehicle (usually behind the taillights) and splice the wire in.
To make sure you get the right wire that only shows power when the vehicle is put in reverse, I recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. Make sure you use someone you can trust to place the vehicle in reverse while you test the wires. Chock the wheels and have your helper place their foot on the brake.
For a 5-way trailer connector on your trailer I recommend part # HM47910.
