Brake Controller Installation 2006 Ford F150

Question:
I have a 2006 F-150 XLT with a 5.4. I will be towing a 95 Sunny Brook 26FK. There is the traditional travel trailer connector at the hitch area which appears factory installed. The truck does not have a traditional brake controller prefer a proportional style. I am disabled with back problems associated with my military service thus it is difficult for me to bend and twist under the dash. Which controller would you recommend that would allow minimal effort hanging the controller and install the wiring. It appears there is at least one wiring system that plugs into the controller and plugs into a site in the wiring under the dash. Would prefer this style so that I dont have to find and wire into the needed wiring. Does this plug in type set up exist for any of the controllers that will fit a 2006 F-150 and controller? Please let me know. Your recommendations are appreciated. Would hate to have to have a dealer installation and the associated costs. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your service! The connector for installing a brake controller is located just above and to the right of the OBD port, as shown in the photo I've provided. The # 3035-P would be the brake controller wiring adapter needed. For a proportional controller, I'd recommend the Tekonsha Primus, part # TK90160. The Primus would be an excellent choice unless you were wanting to tow a trailer that had an electric over hydraulic brake system. If that's the case, you'd want to use the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885 which is compatible with electric over hydraulic brake systems.
The installation wouldn't be too difficult, the plug isn't located to deep under the dash. It would simply be a matter of mounting the controller to the dash and plugging it in. Mounting the controller shouldn't be difficult, and locating the connector and plugging in the wiring adapter isn't too difficult (other than being able to reach up under there). Maybe you have friend, neighbor or relative that could plug it in for you?
I'll link you to an install video showing a brake controller being installed in a 2005 Ford F150. The procedure would be identical for your 2006.
