Can Standard Shackle Bolts Replace Stepped Shackle Bolts

my shackle bolts are stepped, i want to replace them do i need to use stepped bolts or can i use the 9/16, 3inch bolt?

The Step Wet Bolt # 34007-187-00 is a 9/16-inch diameter overall and 3-inches long. The threaded portion is a smaller 7/16-inch diameter (which is the "step").
You can use this part with the matching 7/16 nut # 192600 or you can use standard non-stepped 9/16-inch bolts like # 126B2 (which has a grease zerk fitting) or part # 166081 that does not.
