Compatbilility of Bolt Retro-Fit Toolbox Lock with Kobalt Truck Bed Toolbox on 2000 Chevy Pickup
Question:
We have a Kobalt truck toolbox that one latch broke on and I would like to get another latch to put on it. Wanted to know if this one would fit. It is also on a 2000 Chevrolet pickup that I hope the key will work with the lock.

The folks at Bolt tell me if their # BL7023547 lock would be compatible with UWS and DeeZee toolboxes, but they were unable to specify fit for a Kobalt toolbox, but if the latches you currently have match the dimensions of the diagram I've provided, the Bolt Retro-Fit toolbox lock would work fine for you. The # BL7023547 is compatible with late model trucks, not your 2000 model. If your key looks like the one shown in the provided photo, you'd want to use # BL7022696 lock.
