Helpful Expert Reply:
The tongue weight for any vehicle would take into account the weight of any hitch mounted carrier added to the weight of any cargo placed in or on the carrier.
Both the cargo carriers, part # C18110 and part # C18145 weigh 30-lbs, so you just need to decide which style carrier best suits your needs.
The # C18110 has an inside measurement of 47-11/16 inches long x 19-1/2 inches wide, and 2-3/4 inch side rail height. This carrier has an angled shank with a 3-3/4 inch rise, and would help for ground clearance at the back of your Altima.
The # C18145 inside dimensions are 46-3/8 inches long x 17-9/16 inches wide x 5-1/2 inches tall. this carrier has a straight shank.
Both carriers can work with 1-1/4 inch hitches and 2 inch hitches with the included adapters.
The trailer hitch for your Altima may have a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs, but you want to make sure you do not exceed the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle. That information can be found on the sticker inside the driver side door, or you can contact your dealership.
