Question:
I am building a light tear and want larger tires on a harbour freight trailer. What axle would bolt on and allow some 5 lug wheels with more setback.?

We sell axle beams alone and also complete axle kits that also include hubs, bearings, seals etc. The key is to confirm the weight rating of the existing axle (check it's safety sticker) and it's dimensions so you can choose a replacement with equal capacity; changing the axle to a higher-rated one does not increase the trailer's weight capacity since this is determined by many items, not just the axle itself. Please refer to the linked image for help with axle dimensions..
I have linked for you our main page for trailer axles. You can use the filters on the page to select your required weight rating and axle length. We also offer axle-less trailer suspension systems from Timbren, such as their 2000-lb-rated kit # A20RS545 which includes idler hubs with a 5-on-4-1/2-inch bolt pattern, bearings, races, seals - even grease caps and lug nuts. These axle-less kits give you increased ground clearance by eliminating the axle.
For a beam axle kit that is similarly rated we offer the Dexter kit # 20545I-EZ-60-15. This axle is rated for 2200-lbs, is 60-inches long (measured hub face to hub face) and has spring centers spaced at 48-inches. This kit works with 13- to 15-inch wheels.
Please feel free to tell me your axle weight rating, hub face dimension and spring seat dimension and I will be glad to help you select a suitable replacement. A link to wheels/tires is also included.
