How Many Backing Plates Should be Used to Secure an 8 Foot Length of E-Track

Question:

I want to attach 8foot lengths of E-Track to my trailer floor. Im wondering how far apart I should be spacing the E-Track Backing Plates? Thanks.

It really depends. At the very least I would say that you would need 3 backing plates # BPEZ per E-Track section; one at each end and one in the middle. Five spaced evenly apart would probably be better.

When attaching things to the E-track I recommend securing them at the locations along the track that are attached to the backing plates because that is where it would be the strongest.

As far as how many fasteners to use Erickson says to use 2 per linear foot of track.
