Will the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Eventually Drain Truck Battery
Published 11/17/2015 >
Question:
I just installed the P3 in my 2012 GMC Sierra 1500. I noticed that there is no off switch, and after 4 days the unit appears to never have powered off when no trailer is connected. Is there something I am missing, maybe an option I did not tell it? I would like to be able to switch it off when I am not using so there will be less battery drain.

The Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195 that you referenced will eventually go into sleep mode if it is left undisturbed for several minutes. You should note though that the display of the controller would take an incredibly long time to drain a vehicle battery. The battery would have drained from inactivity long before the controller would.
Also, you don't want to fully shut off the controller when not in use because you would lose the presets of it.
