The best way around the TIPM on your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 is to bypass it using the Tow Ready Upgraded Heavy Duty Modulite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with Install Kit, # 119190KIT, and the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller, # ETBC7. The # 119178KIT is a top of the line harness protects against electrical shorts and mis-wire situations.
I have attached a help article, as well as installation instructions, for you.
