Question:
I purchased a Hopkins Insight from you last year and need to hook it up to a 2013 Ford F-150 P/U with tow pkg. My question is I cannot find the pre-wired plug in to hook up the controller. Can you be of any help?

Expert Reply:
The connector for installing a brake controller is located under the dash, just to the right of the diagnostic port, which is right above where the driver's right knee would be. If you don't already have the vehicle specific plug for the 2013 Ford F150, you'll need part # 22292. One end would plug into the back of the brake controller, the other would plug into the connector under the dash.
I've linked you to an install video showing the Prodigy P2 brake controller being installed on a 2013 Ford F150.

Hi Mike, i am having the same problem. I located the plug you described but no wires going to it. Nothing wired to the brake controller plug. Since i am the original owner i still have the package in the glove compartment showing the location of a pre-wired plug for trailer brakes. But the plug is NOT pre wired. Where do i find the wires to install the plug myself so i can connect my brake controller. I have a 2013 Ford F-150 STX 5.0L. 2 wheel drive
