How do I find the brake signal wire under the brake pedal for a 2010 Dodge Journey to wire a Tekonsha Voyager controller?

Finding the stop light wire to connect to a brake controller can be tricky depending on the vehicle. Especially if there is very little space in which to work. You will start by locating the brake light switch under the dash and above the brake pedal. There should be several wires running to it. I have included a picture that shows what it might look like.

Using a circuit tester, like # PTW2993, test each wire until you find the one that has a signal ONLY when the brake pedal is pressed. That is the wire you need to connect to the red wire of the brake controller on your 2010 Dodge Journey. I have also included an FAQ on wiring a brake controller from scratch that might help.
