Question:

I have a 2001 Tahoe 5.3. I going to start pulling a camping trailer and i want to put a external transmission cooler. What would you recommend. I will be bolting in front of radiator for the most exposure to fresh air. thank you.

The best way to pick out a transmission cooler is to measure the area in front of your radiator and then pick the biggest one that will fit the available space.

A very popular choice is the Derale Cooler part # D13503. This cooler measures 11" Wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep. As long as you have room for it this cooler would be a great choice. You will also need the adapter fitting part # D13035. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

Installing the cooler in front of the radiator like you said you plan to do is the best place to install one. This will give it the best access to fresh cool air like you mentioned.
