Troubleshooting Bad Brake Magnets that Cause Trailer Brakes to Barely Function
Question:
My Prodigy P2 displays the c when plugged to the trailer and it gives a voltage readout - clear up to 13 volts using the manual lever - when activated. However, When using the brake pedal I get no braking and only two, one on each side, brakes activate when using the manual lever. The brakes are properly adjusted and there are no error codes displayed on the unit. When the trailer is in motion and the manual lever is used there is no tangible braking action although when the truck is moving at idle the brakes will eventually bring it to a stop. I guess what Ifoot saying is that I have no trailer brakes. I should mention that the brake lights work. The tow vehicle is a 2001 F-350 diesel the tow is a 2007 Hitch Hiker 329 with a 14,800 pound GVW. Any ideas?

Based on what you described it sounds like the brake magnets are bad. Check out the link I attached that details how to test the magnets to see if they are working properly.
