Recommendation to Carry 4 Bikes on a 2012 Toyota Sienna
Question:
I would like to use a 4-bike trunk rack for my 2012 Toyota Sienna. However, of all the 4-bike racks I have seen, their fit guides indicate that they are not a good match with the 2012 Sienna great for Sienna older than 2011. Any suggestions?

We do have an option that will allow you to carry 4 bikes on your 2012 Toyota Sienna, however, trunk mounted bike racks are not compatible with your vehicle because your vehicle is unable to support the weight of the bike rack and bikes at the point where the carrier must be placed.
Instead, I recommend looking into adding a trailer hitch and using a hitch mounted bike rack. For a trailer hitch, we have the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # C13105. With this hitch installed, you will be able to use a wide variety of hitch mounted bike racks and many other hitch mounted accessories. I have attached installation instructions and an installation video of this hitch on a 2012 Toyota Sienna for you to check out.
The bike rack that I recommend for you is the Thule Apex XT, # TH9025XT. This bike rack supports 4 bikes and has arms that allow more space between each bike making loading and unloading easy. This bike rack also tilts away from the vehicle giving you full access to your rear cargo area without having to remove the bike rack each time. I have attached installation instructions and a demonstration video for this bike rack as well.
I have also attached a link to all of the 4 bike racks that will work with the Curt trailer hitch.
If you plan on carrying any women's, children's or alternative frame bikes, then I would recommend picking up the Thule Bike Adapter Bar, # TH982XT. Some small or angled bike frames can be difficult to load on bike racks and this adapter will allow you to load your bikes easily and safely. Check out the demonstration video that I attached for this adapter as well.
