Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the PTC Custom Fit Synthetic Oil Filter. Now, as the name might suggest, this is designed for use with synthetic oils. So make sure you keep that in mind when you are using it. It's going to remove contaminants from your oil to keep your engine running efficiently and cleanly. It is recommended to replace these every 10,000 miles. So make sure you keep an eye on that odometer, so you know when it's time to swap this out with a new one.
It has a silicone anti drain back valve to protect the engine during start-ups, as well as a heavy steel canister around the outside here to protect the filter during your install. So if you do have a tool or something on here, you don't have to worry about crushing it while you install it. Now, the gasket here handles extreme temperatures from negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit, all the way up to over 300 degrees Fahrenheit. So I don't think you'll be having any issues with that. It does have a spin on design.
You can see the threads in the middle right here, so you just twist it on to install it. It does have arrows on the side here. So you know which way you do need to be turning it to install it correctly. Now, if I turn it on its side right here, I can grab my measuring stick here. And the diameter of this is going to be two and three quarters of an inch down the middle there.

It’s a nice solid oil filter. I have a 2022 Subaru Ascent.With supply problems,Subaru has change the oil filters to a crappy cheap oil filter that may not have the fine qualities that the original Japanese oil filter has.

I cannot give a review on the filter as it is NOT the right one cor my car. The site stated it was, it might fit, but none of the numbers match and it is a lot shorter.
Exterior finish seems good but who knows what the internal quality is. It's made in China so I'm afraid it's "[low]" quality. No idea how filter media or internal check valve is. Hard to really tell how good oil filters are. There's no API rating, performance indication, and oil filtration is so important for an engine. Bought 2 of these for $[xx] to save $[xx] in shipping on larger order. Probably would have just paid shipping if I knew they were Chinese.

Although they are advertised as compatible with either conventional or synthetic oil, they appear to be lower quality than the K&N filters I have been using. Whereas I drive at least 5 or 6 thousand miles between oil changes I haven't decided whether I will use them.

Worked to replace original perfectly. Filter media seemed to be as robust as stock filter as well--we'll see in 500,000 miles or so...
