It's a simple concept - use the air beneath your Chevrolet Suburban to cool your transmission fluid. With Derale's pan cooler, this process becomes even more effective because of the patented turbulator cooling tubes and large-capacity construction.

NOTE: This transmission pan cooler fits most 1982-1999 model 4L60Es. Some models may require a smaller transmission filter to get it to fit. It will not fit on all models.
Commonly used on vintage hot rods and race cars, Derale's pan coolers are designed to add a little extra cooling power to keep your vehicle's transmission operating at its best. Simple installation involves replacing the existing oil pan with the new Derale one, which, in addition to providing cooling power, also increases fluid capacity. The built-in turbulator tubes allow air to flow through, pulling the heat that has collected in the pan's surface and dissipating it into the surrounding environment.

- Transmission in the 2005 Chevy Avalanche for Picking Out Pan CoolerThe 4L80E transmission was used in the higher rated trucks and the 4L60E was used in the lighter duty trucks. Since you have a 1500 model 2005 Chevy Avalanche you would have the 4L60E transmission. The # D14204 would be the correct pan cooler then.
