2004 Chevrolet Silverado

I had been waiting to find this Curt hitch on sale for a while.
First off I get to keep the hooks that came with my 2004 Silverado Crew cab 2500HD 4x4.
Then I removed two existing bolts and loosened a third on each hook.
Using a floor jack lifted the hitch into place and threaded in the new bolts through the frame and into the hooks.
The biggest problem I had was being able to reach the bolts into the side of the frame and hooks w/out removing the air dam.
Looks GREAT!!

I know some reviews have mentioned a reduction in ground clearance but my truck is not lifted and the clearance is nearly the same as the transmission skid plate installed by the factory.

I sometimes need to get low hard to see trailers into tight spaces and I’m also looking to pick up a winch. Looking forward to many years of hard work.

This has made getting trailers parked closely and out of the way at job sites so much easier. Whish I hed it years ago!

Unbelievable how clean the install is for this product!! I was certain I would have to do some cutting or drilling, however not a single cut or new hole required. The product fit like it was straight from the factory ... even with the existing front Grille Guard that I have on my truck!!

I also appreciate the FAST shipping and customer service, as tracking info was emailed after the product shipped without requesting this info and the product arrived within the same week.

I've already recommended etrailer to other landscapers on lawnsite.com, as we're always looking for front-mount solutions for spreaders and other landscape equipment.

I have to say that I absolutely LOVE this product!! It works perfect for mounting my walk-behind fertilizer spreader to the front of my truck while having the larger PermaGreen spreader on the back of my truck. Having this front-mounted hitch has allowed me to carry both of my spreaders and not sprain my back while wrestling the smaller spreader out of the bed of my truck as I had before.

2006 Chevrolet Silverado

This was the easiest installation of the 10 or more hitches that I have installed. Four bolts out and replaced with four suppler bolts and washer. No modification of the air dam needed.

I needed some washers (supplied) between the frame and the receiver as spacers. I recommended that you figure out how many you need (1 or 2 per side), then lower it down and tape them in place to hold them in place and push the bolts through the tape after you lift it back in place.

Cover the ground with a rug or cardboard to keep from scratching the receiver when it’s on the ground before you lift it into place.

Still good. No corrosion or other issues.

by:

This was possibly the easiest hitch install I've ever done! All the holes lined up, the onle thing was two of the bolts they supplied are not long enough,I had the longer bolts in stock and finished. I haul a truck camper so needed the extra cargo space, looks like it'll work!

there was 4 bolts in the kit to replace the bolts in the tow hooks, the 2 that went into the side where the ones that where too short, they where 1 3/4" I replaced them with 2 1/4" bolts. There was a gap between the hitch mount and the frame approximately 1/16" that a washer filled that gap. I'm a retired shop owner that did auto repair and fabrication so it was an easy install.

I will have our customer service team reach out to you. The hitch manufacturer prefers to have the hardware that comes with the hitch be used for warranty purposes.

by:

I purchased the front hitch for my truck. With a fifth wheel I can’t carry bikes anywhere but the front. I really don’t trust the strength of the rear bumper on these RV’s. Hitch went on easy in the garage with no alterations needed. The bikes sit a bit high but that’s not the hitch problem....
I will also use it for other functions around the truck...push/re-locate utility trailer in tight spaces, use for a rack to haul stuff like firewood etc...when back hitch is unavailable.

by:

Easy install; unobtrusive, but hitch receiver is far enough forward I can install the bike rack without needing an extension.

by:

Great product easy installation reinforces your front end will definitely buy again for my next truck

2003 GMCSierra

This is the second hitch I've ordered for my truck. This hitch was very easy to install on the front of my GMC Sierra and is almost unnoticeable, which I like. I use it to transport a small Honda Trail 90 motorcycle, and it's 9000lb rating is well above what I am asking it to do. It arrived via UPS several days after ordering, was in good shape, and only took ten minutes to install with only two different size socket wrenches. Highly recommend this unit for the front of any truck.

2004 GMC Sierra 3500

The 31108 Front Mount Hitch Receiver was a perfect match for my 2004 GMC Sierra 3500. I seemed well built and the instructions were clear and easy to understand. I installed the hitch in under 45 minutes and that includes prep time. No special tools required. See photo attached.

by:

This fit my 2006 Silverdo 3500 easily - and it has been a great addition to be able to carry my motorcycle in front of the pickup while camping.

by:

I waited 12 days for a shipment from amazon and the hitch was lost. They want to send me another hitch with a due date of January 6, 2024! You guys are the best! 2 day’s service was outstanding!!!

by:

I would add to your instruction, if you have the factory hooks, remove the four bolts as stated and give to customer, " loosen the other two bolts on the outside of frame" this gives you a little wiggle room to start the new bolts. BUT great product and great people.

by:

Fit great lineup no modifications happy with the results

Wonderful very satisfied with the sales department and the quality of the product

by:

This hitch mounted to tow hooks just as described, even with existing brush guard. Needed it to haul a generator the only issue was the brush guard stuck out too far so I had to buy a 12" extender. Now every thing works as planned. Shipping was fast and customer service was great.
Thank You

2006 Chevrolet Silverado

Very good quality, Heavy Duty hitch that looks easy to install.
Ian W was very helpful with my order and customer service has been great.
This hitch fits the Chevy Silverado 2500 and 3500 I believe. My Chevy is a 2006 model.
I highly recommend Curt hitches and ETRAILER.COM.

The front hitch was easy to install and has been very useful. I just wished the 2006 Chevy Silverado had more clearance as far as height goes on the front end.Mine is a 4x4 but it could sure use a lift kit. The hitch is great though!

by:
2005 Chevrolet Silverado

15 minute, piece of cake single-handed install. Instructions say cutting fascia optional on 2500. Not even close to needing to. Truck is 2005 Silverado 2500HD. Receiver sits up there nice and tight, so doesn't change ground clearances.

by:

Hitch is in excellent condition even though it tried to get out of the box.

by:
2003 GMCSierra

Repetitively easy to Mount and was still able to keep the factory toe hooks installed

by:

I did not get a chance to put it on right away. Now that I have put the front hitch on , it looks great. It was harder getting the original old bolts off than it was putting on the hitch. The hitch went on quickly and now I can use it to put a plow on for these snowy Ohio winters.

by:

Easy install, the bolts that went into the recovery hooks were about 1/2” short and couldn’t get the threads to bite

by:

I installed the hitch with no problems, looks great. The item was poorly packed for shipping and I consider myself lucky to see it arrive.

by:

I received the product (hitch) today and haven't had the opportunity to put it on my truck. I hope to do that this week or next. I can write an additional review at that time. Wayne H. did a great job clarifying which hitch would be best for my needs. I'll summit a picture after it is installed.

I love the product. It has come in lhandy many times when moving my trailer and boats. I would definitely purchase another if I ever purchase another truck in the future. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Worked even with all my aftermarket parts in this can aftermarker ranchhand bumper. Had to use extension to work but it works.

1 Year Review- The Hitch mount seems to have held up to the abuse of running my plow at my rural driveway400ft longand 1 to 2ft tall of drifting snow and my workplace in town3in to 1ft of snow and up to 2ft tall drifts at the building. I takes an hr to plow my workplace at minimum and I have pushed a lot of snow. I have broke my plow 2 times in this time frame. Im going to have to replace the hitch extension as its starting to bend but the hitch and mount seem held up well.I have been stuck in my driveway with my plow down and pile of snow bigger then my truck. Waiting for a back hoe to come dig me out 2 times. I straight abuse it for what its meant for and its done well. Very Happy

The two hitches are very similar, but the # 31109 would sit 2 inches lower on your truck than the proper fitting # 31108 would. If you have a light duty 1500 you would want the # 31302, if you have an HD 1500 you would want the # 31108 hitch.
