Question:
Does the curt, part #31302, hitch fit on a 2007 chevy silverado 2500 HD classic without drilling the frame?or is it only for 1500s? This seems to be the only hitch that might fit my truck that can be mounted with the receiver up above the cross member of the hitch and through the plastic valance of the bumper. All of the hitches i am finding hang below the front bumper, I do not mind having to cut a hole in the front plastic bumper valance. I need the ground clearance and dont want it hanging below the valance.

The 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 2500 requires a different front mount trailer hitch. From Curt, you can use # 31108. I spoke with my contact at Curt and from the bottom of the frame rail to the bottom of the receiver on the hitch once installed is 5 inches. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
I have included a some pictures showing the hitch installed.
