Pewag Servo RS Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2008 Scion xB

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at our Pewag Servo RS Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chain right here on our 2008 Scion xB. So Pewag has a very unique self-tensioning system right here where they have the Pewag Servo. So let's say you're taking your vehicle out. You like to go camping, you like to go on adventures, but maybe where you're going requires a little extra traction on the road. What also may happen is you may be in certain states where they have requirements or certain areas where they require that you keep a snow tire chain or traction device in your vehicle or on your tires. more

Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2008 Scion xB

Hi everyone, it's Evangelina here at etrailer. And today, we'll be taking a look at our Konig CG9 self-tensioning, low-profile snow tire chain, right here on our 2008 Scion xB. So you're taking your Scion xB out for a trip, you're driving down the road, and maybe the place you need to go requires that you have snow tire chains on your vehicle, but you want something that's super easy to install, super easy to store. You just want an ease of use snow tire chain that's not stressful at all. That's where this snow tire chain comes in handy. This is my favorite tire chains to install, especially if you have like what the owner of this vehicle did, where he lowered his Scion xB, and you have very limited wheel clearance. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2008 Scion xB

Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we'll be taking a look at our Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains right here on our 2008 Scion xB. If you have very limited clearance around your tires but you still want a traction device, that's kinda where cable chains like these come in handy. These are super duper low profile, which means you will have a smoother ride overall compared to your larger chains. You have your rollers on there too, adding to that smoothness of a ride, and it sits very close to your tire. more

Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2008 Scion xB

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we'll be taking a look at our Titan Chain Diamond Alloy Snow Tire Chain right here on our 2008 Scion xB. So this is a low profile snow tire chain, which is really easy to throw onto your vehicle. So compared to your other ladder style chains, it adds a little bit more traction, but again, my favorite part about this Titan Chain Diamond Alloy Snow Tire Chain is that it's an affordable tire chain, which has some nice premium features that make it easier to install. So these are square links arranged in a diamond pattern. You should get 2 styles of patterns. You get ladder style, which is your traditional style. more

On your Tekonsha, where those two wires come into the four it's got a hard, plastic casing around it so it's going to protect that connection a lot better.Another difference is the Tekonsha is going to have 2.1 amps per circuit for your stop and turn and 5.6 amps per circuit for your tail lights, whereas your Curt is going to have 3 amps for your stop and turn and 6 amps per circuit for your tail lights. Now one of the big differences between these two is your converter boxes. more

Okay, just behind it, we get two generous loops for your safety chains, and this can use a 1/2 inch hitch pin or your favorite locking pin. Okay, and basically, all you see is a tube on back, and the rest of the hitch body, which is a square tube is actually all hidden behind the bumper. And when it reaches up to the frame on the vehicle, this all uses existing trailer holes, so there's no drilling required on this. Okay, now, this has a 350 pound tongue weighting, which is the weight that pulls down on the hitch. more

I'm going to go ahead and show you how to use it, when it's not being used it can stay in a compartment here or here, and when you do need to use it, just simply pull it out and shut the door hatch on it. The door seals thick is thick enough it won't hurt anything, you've got more than enough wire to go down to your trailer, and when you shut the hatch, stay away from the latch here or else you'll damage the wire and you'll be starting all over.At this point you're ready to hook up your trailer. We'll go ahead and cover the components that come with the kit, first off this is a t-part of the connector, you've got 2 of them, the one with the yellow wire goes to your driver side, and the green wire goes over to the passenger side. These wires send signals to the module right here, this module actually copies the signal and uses battery power from this black wire here to power the trailer, that way your vehicles' wiring harness is insulated from the trailer. We have a white wire here for ground, that'll go to the sheetmetal on the body of the vehicle, then It comes out to the 4-pull slack trailer connector with a cover for it as well. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Scion XB - Curt- Video

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Scion XB - Curt

Today we are going to install part number 12490 from Curt. And we are going to install this hitch on a 2008 Scion XB. First we will show you how this hitch installs on the vehicle. It is going to install on these three holes that are existing in the frame right now, and they are threaded. On some older vehicles, you may have to clean those out with a wire brush and some high lubricant - or, in worst-case scenario, a thread tap. Also what we are going to have to do is take down our exhaust. Spray down this hanger here with some lubricant and then slide it off. And you can tell we have already did spray a little bit of that. That will lower the muffler out of our way so we can get our work done. And then on the drivers side, this tie-down bracket will have to come off and stay off. And the hitch will go back into its place. What you want to do next is go ahead and check the holes. Run a a bolt in there. Make sure they thread in there okay. Like I said, if it is dirty, you may have to take a few steps and clean them out. And once you get everything started and, you know, make sure it looks good and clean, then you can go ahead and install your hitch at this point. more
