Clamp the muffler and the extension pipe together. Insert any hangers on the muffler into the OEM rubber insulators. 3. | In this article we give an overview of how to install a MagnaFlow cat-back exhaust system . We begin...

Blue Ox Vehicle-Specific Base Plates

Description of Blue Ox vehicle-specific base plates and a comparision of the two different types available. Also, how the base plates connect to the tow bar.

Once properly positioned, a pin is inserted through all three lugs and secured on one side with a smaller quick pin. | Base plates are an integral part of any towing system. These vehicle-specific brackets provide attachment...

Dielectric Grease Review

While dielectric grease is not a conductor of electrical current, it does help to preserve the integrity of the metals by reducing corrosion. Dielectric grease is used to keep moisture out of the electrical connections on your wiring and to inhibit corrosion.

Quick Splices A little dab prior to inserting wires in the quick connect gives a corrosion-resistant barrier. | Dielectric grease is used to keep moisture out of the electrical connections on your wiring and to inhibit corrosion....

Diode Installation Instructions for a Dinghy with Separate Tail Light Wiring

This page provides detailed instructions for installing diodes on a dinghy with a separate, 3-wire tail light wiring system, providing the dinghy with operational tail lights while being towed

Tie in the left-turn circuit from the tow vehicle wiring harness using a spade connector Attach the yellow (left-turn) wire from the converter to the remaining input prong on the diode Tape up connections to secure them Running lights: Locate factory left-side running light circuit and install diode, leaving one input prong open (temporarily hold off installing the wire from the wiring harness) Next, locate factory right-side running light circuit and install diode, again leaving one input prong open Create a jumper wire to carry the running light circuit from the left-side running light to the right-side running light Cut an extra length of wire that can extend from the left-side diode to the right-side diode Twist the loose end of the jumper wire on the left side and the brown wire from the wiring harness together and insert the twisted end into the spade connector Connect both wires to the remaining prong on the right running light diode Locate factory right-side running light circuit and insert diode Run the remaining loose end of jumper wire across and attach it to remaining prong on the input side of the right running light diode Brake lights: Locate factory left-side brake light circuit and install diode, leaving one input prong open Locate factory right-side brake light circuit and install diode, leaving one input prong open Create a jumper wire to carry the brake light circuit from the left-side brake light to the right-side brake light Cut an extra length of wire that can extend from the left-side diode to the right-side diode Twist together the loose end of the jumper wire on the left side and the red wire from the converter box and insert the twisted ends into a spade connector Connect both wires in the spade connector to the remaining prong on the right brake light diode Run the loose end of jumper wire across the back of the vehicle and attach it to remaining prong on the input side of the right brake light diode Right turn: Run a length of wire from the green wire on the output side of the converter to the right-side turn signal Connect the green wire from the output side of the converter to the extension Locate the factory right-turn circuit and install diode using process outlined in the "left turn" process Attach the end of the extension coming from the green wire on the converter to the open input prong on the right-turn diode |

Trailer Couplers

A coupler is a mechanism that bolts or is welded to end of the trailer tongue and connects with the hitch ball. Couplers differ in capacity, style and application.

Trigger Allows fast locking and unlocking Pull trigger and pull up on latch to unhitch Adjust locknut beneath coupler for increased tension on hitch ball Thumb Press latch down and back with thumb Place coupler over ball, push latch down and forward Rear of latch locks into slot Wrap Around Yoke Lift latch handle and pull backward, raising yoke onto coupler nose to unhitch To hitch up, place coupler on ball and push latch handle forward until yoke drops over nose Latch tips secure into slots on coupler top Pin Style Fastener To open, pull back spring-loaded collar Position coupler over hitch ball Close hinged portion of coupler, then release collar to close Insert pin and retainer or pull back latch on top to secure Shop for trailer couplers |

Trailer Hitch Installation Tips

How to install a trailer hitch. General information about the installation of trailer hitches on cars, trucks, and suvs including bolt-on, minor drilling, fish wire and other methods to make installing a hitch easy.

Handle Nuts: Some attachments to boxed-in areas are made with " handle nuts ." Inserted through an access hole, the handle locates the nut over the hitch attachment hole and prevents the nut from turning when the bolt is tightened. |

Replacing the Bearing, Races and Seals on a Trailer Hub

Description on how to remove, grease, and reinstall trailer bearings, races, and seals. Also some quick tips on backing the bearings with grease.

Catalytic Converters

A catalytic converter minimizes harmful emissions from the exhaust of a properly tuned combustion engine. This process occurs when heat combines with a precious metal catalyst that either oxidizes (burns) or reduces harmful emissions to safe elements in the exhaust flow.

These converters are easily recognizable by the air tube, which is inserted near the middle of the converter. In the diagram below, the black area in the center of the drawing indicates the space where the secondary air is pumped, and the surrounding beige areas represent the two catalyst substrates. |

Must-Have Flat Towing Components

Learn about the five primary components you need for a safe flat towing setup: a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, light wiring, and a supplemental braking system.

Because this type of tow bar inserts into your motor home's trailer hitch receiver, there is no need for that additional connection point that car-mounted models require. | The most common reason for towing a vehicle...
