The thermostat allows you to dial in to a specific temperature instead of a just a knob with an arrow on it. For the installation I do recommend picking up some butyl tape # AL28FJ and Non-Sag Sealant # AL28KV to properly seal the exterior door to the outside of your RV. |

It is a bit of work but this is one of the top RV water heaters on the market in terms of performance and will let you set your temperature to a specific degree instead of the old fashioned arrow knob most heaters typically have. |
