The dimensions I'm seeing for an Onan 5500 generator show it being 22.2"W x 33.6"L x 16.7"H and weighing 288lbs so the MORryde Generator Tray - 25-3/4" x 26-1/4" Item # MR79RR will not be able to support the size of your Onan 5500 generator but it can support the weight.
Instead I recommend the MORryde Sliding Tray for RV Cargo Compartment - 48" x 26" # MR97FR. It has plenty of space to accommodate the size of your generator and has an 800lbs weight capacity.
