Question:

Next spring I plan to purchase a 2015 Honda Odyssey minivan. I would like to know if the Odyssey can accommodate two Kayaks using the Yakima SweetRoll system. If so, the next question would be to figure out what if any roof rails/crossbars I want factory installed and what I would need from you to mount the SweetRoll system. Any insights you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

The 2015 Honda Odyssey comes with raised rails or optional crossbars. If you go with the raised rail option you can use the Yakima Whispbar HD bar system, # WB-S18, which are compatible with the Yakima SweetRoll kayak carrier, # Y04074. These crossbars have a usable space of 57", which should be wide enough for most kayaks.They are also the quietest crossbar style on the market.

The weight capacity for the Whispbar bar system is 165 lbs, so you will want to make sure the total weight of your kayaks stays under that limit. You should also check your owner's manual for the Odyssey's roof's weight capacity. You will have to go by the lowest weight limit.
