Tekonsha Sentinel controller has a black wire heavy gauge, blue wire heavy gauge, red wire medium gauge and white wire medium gauge. 2007 Suburban has a blue wire heavy gauge, red with black strip heavy gauge wire, yellow wire medium gauge and off green with large white strip wire.

Your 2007 Chevy Suburban will have tow package wiring under the dash and typically these wires will be red, dark blue, light blue (or orange) and white. These tow package wires should be below the steering column to the left of the brake pedal and tied together with white tape. It sounds like you have found the correct wires although the colors may have faded slightly from age.
The RED wire from the Suburban connects to the BLACK wire on the controller; the DARK BLUE wire connects to the BLUE wire on the Sentinel controller. The LIGHT BLUE wire (which is probably the 'off-green' wire you reference) connects to the RED wire on the controller and the two WHITE ground wires connect to each other. You can use butt connectors like # DW05714 for the lighter gauge wires and # 05732-2 for the heavier gauge wires.
