Fit of Draw-Tite Class I Hitch # 24867 Around Exhaust of 2014 Nissan Juke
Updated 09/11/2014 | Published 09/10/2014 >
Question:
I am considering this hitch to use a bicycle carrier. I am planning to attach this to a 2014 Juke w/AWD. Does this hitch bolt up to the existing holes where the tie-down hook is mounted now? Im concerned that the hitch will clear the exhaust that is all right in that area. It says it fits that vehicle so I assume that is taken into consideration.

The Draw-Tite Class I # 24867 is a fit for all models of the 2014 Juke, except for the NISMO mode. The hitch attaches to the vehicle using weldnuts in the underside of the frame member, and the tow hook would need to be removed. The hitch is designed to allow as much exhaust clearance as possible. I've provided you a photo showing how the hitch will sit in relation to the exhaust pipe. I've also linked you to the installation instructions.
You'll want to make sure you choose a bike rack that is compatible with a Class I hitch (see link). Due to its low capacity, the hitch and bike rack manufacturers agree that any bike rack installed in a Class I hitch should be limited to carrying two bikes.
