The trailer hitch C11296 will not fit your 2004 Ford Focus ZX3. It was designed to fit the wagon. The correct trailer hitch for your 2004 Ford Focus ZX3 is # 24692.
If you plan on doing some towing the correct ball mount is # 3593. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring you will need # 18252. I have linked videos to demonstrate installing the trailer hitch and wiring.
If you would like to use the trailer hitch for a bike rack or cargo carrier make sure the accessory is rated for a Class I hitch. For a bike rack Class I hitches are rated for maximum of 2 bikes.
