Question:
I have a 2002 Toyota Tacoma truck 4 X 4. I want to install electric brake controller for the trailer with two axles with electric brakes. Right now I just have the 4 prong plug for trailer lights. Id like to know if Toyota already has wiring in it for the electric brake hook - up or if I have to install the ETB product you sell. Either way, I need to purchase the brake controller, break-away switch and maybe the ETB product to make this system work. Your help will be a good thing ! ! Q: Does Toyota already have the wiring, or do I need the ETB ?

To add an electric brake controller, such as the reliable and popular Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195, to your 2002 Tacoma you will need an # ETBC7 installation kit. This kit includes the 7-way socket that will convert your existing 4-pole and it includes all the required wiring, circuit breakers, connectors and even a tester to help you identify the correct wires on the vehicle.
I have linked both two helpful articles and a video to show you the installation process.
For a breakaway kit I suggest the Hopkins # 20099 which includes a charger and tester.
