Routing Power Wire for Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2014 Toyota Avalon
Updated 08/28/2014 | Published 08/27/2014 >
Question:
You never mention how to get the wires underneath the car to connect it to the trailer. Its really kind of vague. You talk about a hatch type vehicle, but the Avalon is a sedan, which is what the part is for.

Trailer wiring harness # 118578 fits the Toyota Avalon and the RAV4 which is why you see a video for the RAV4. We haven't had the chance to install it on the Avalon.
The portion of the video showing the actual routing of the power wire is not specific to that vehicle. You can definitely use it as a guide on your Avalon. I have also included a link to the right that includes tips on routing the power wire.
Manufacturers of the wiring harnesses do not address how to get the power wire from the back to the battery, just that that connection is needed. This is because there is no one way that it has to be routed. That is why I wrote that article linked for you.
