Question:
When you remove a step pad, how do you remove the plastic pegs inside the metal clips?. Drill them out? Do you have to replace the metal tube clips or leave them in and reuse them? I have a broken step pad that left the pegs in the clips, the top part just broke away. They are 21 inch step pads, and I just ordered 2 of the 21 inch replacement westin pads as the peg hole measurements seemed the same as mine. I have a 2011 GMC 2500 diesel denali, with 3 inch tubular rails that came with the truck, although I can not find the brand name on the tubes or through a VIN search from the dealer. Thanks.

You would have to pry apart the barrel clips to get them off of the pegs on the bottom of step pad # 23-0001. You should be able to reuse them though as long as they are not permanently damaged in the process. Barrel clips # 23-0002 will fit the pad you ordered should you need to replace one.
Since the pegs broke off in the clips you would have to try to pull them out with needle nose pliers. Otherwise drilling would probably be the best option. But take it slow so as not to damage the step.
It is possible they are Westin tube steps. But if the peg measurements are the same it will probably still work either way. I just can't confirm it if the bars are not Westin E-Series bars.
