Question:
I have a 1987 Komfort S34MT motorhome with a 30a service and the B-W Manufacturers / MagneTek Series 6300 Model 6345 UL power center. I’m am Considering upgrading to a 50a service and was curious if there is a modern power center that will fit into the same location with minimal cabinetry modifications. Hey Steven, there is a modern power center that is a great candidate for your 1987 Komfort S34MT motorhome, especially since you're planning to upgrade from 30-amp to 50-amp service and eventually switch to lithium batteries.
My recommendation would be the Progressive Dynamics 4500 Series, specifically the #PD4560K18LS8, which combines a 50-amp AC distribution panel with a 60-amp DC converter/charger.
This would give you a modern electrical distribution system with the ability to charge both lead-acid and lithium batteries.
Dimensions and fitment
Measurement PD4500 Series
Overall width 11.85"
Overall height 14.125"
Overall depth 7.80"
Required cutout width 10.125"
Required cutout height 13.25"
I can't find the exact dimensions of what you have now so you would need to compare the dimensions I mentioned to what you have to be sure. Do you have the batteries picked out already?
