Steering Stabilizer Upgrade To Replace Factory Steering Shock On 2024 F550 Renegade Veracruz RV

Updated 10/22/2026 | Published 10/21/2026

Question:

I just got a 2024 Ford F-550 Renegade RV Veracruz. Im looking to upgrade the factory steering stabilizer shock. I measured the shock extended and compressed lengths by turning the RVs wheels full lock left and right. The numbers I got were about 28.75 in and 17.5 in. Please advise which product would best fit my RV

Good morning Devon.

Congrats on the new 2024 Ford F-550 Renegade Veracruz! I recommend the Safe-T-Plus Steering Stabilizer # ST75MR. This is a great upgrade over the factory stabilizer to help reduce wandering, improve steering control, and minimize the effects of crosswinds.

The kit includes mounting hardware specifically designed for the F-550 2WD chassis, so there's no need to match the extended and compressed measurements of your factory shock.

Do you know if your RV also has front and rear anti-sway bars? Sometimes it also helps to install those to keep the vehicle straight and not sway as much, but the steering stabilizer is still probably the best first upgrade that most people do. You'll see a big difference!

I installed the Safe-T-plus stabilizer and sumo springs front and rear on my Thor Magnitude BH35 and it has really improved the drive ability and sway.
