Question:

I'm looking at the Westin W84SH for my 2026 Ram 2500 with the 6-1/2 foot bed. I keep tools and other gear in the bed pretty regularly and want to make sure they stay dry. How does this cover handle rain and where does the water go?

Hey Greg! The Westin Power Retractable Tonneau Cover # W84SH does a great job keeping your tools and gear protected from the weather. It has seals around the cover, along with drain tubes that route water from the rails and canister out of the truck bed.

I wouldn't consider any tonneau cover completely waterproof, so I'd still keep anything that absolutely can't get wet in a sealed container, but this will provide plenty of protection from normal rain and road spray.

What kind of tools and gear are you keeping in the bed?

Thanks! Can I add crossbars to the tracks later? I have a basket and a roof box I might throw on there from time to time for extra storage.

@Greg absolutely! The Westin Crossbars # W79ZK are specifically designed to mount to the T-slots in these tonneau cover rails. They'll give you a set of crossbars for mounting your cargo basket or roof box whenever you need the extra storage.
