Is The Titan Model 60 Actuator T43329007K A Good Replacement For A Dico Model 60?

Published 10/01/2026

Question:

Im wanting to replace the surge brake coupler on my 1994 boat trailer. Its a Dico Model 60, 6000lb capacity for a tandem axle trailer with drum brakes. There dont seem to be many couplers in the 6000lb category any more. Is the Titan Dico T43329007K a suitable replacement?

Hey Brian, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the Titan/Dico # T43329007K is a very good replacement for your original Dico Model 60. It is the newer Model 60-style drum-brake actuator, fits a 3" wide trailer tongue and 2" hitch ball, and uses the same three mounting holes spaced 3" on center. The current version is actually rated higher than your original at 7,500 lbs GVWR and 750 lbs tongue weight, so your 6,000 lb tandem-axle trailer is well within its capacity.

The Model 60 is designed to operate up to four drum-brake assemblies, so a tandem-axle trailer with brakes on both axles is right in its wheelhouse. I like the # T43329007K for your setup because it keeps you with essentially the same style actuator.

What kind of boat are you hauling?
