Availability of Class 2 Hitch with 2 Inch Receiver for 2007 Volvo XC70

The available trailer hitches for a 2007 Volvo XC70 are all class II hitches with 1-1/4 inch hitch receivers. These trailer hitches have a gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of either 300 or 350 pounds.

You could go with an adapter like the Brophy # HTAD which converts a 1-1/4 inch receiver to a 2 inch receiver. However, I do not recommend it because it will reduce your tongue weight capacity by half.

If you decide to go with a Class II hitch, I recommend Draw-Tite, part # 36297, because it comes with a pin and clip. I have included a link to the installation details and a video of a similar installation on a 2007 Volvo XC70 for you to view.

If you intend to do some light towing there are a couple other items you would need.

For a hitch ball, you can use # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, you will need Upgraded Circuit Protected Modulite with 4 Pole Harness, # 119179KIT. I have included a link to the installation details for you to check out.
