Question:

My company is in the process of leasing a 2027 Chevy Colorado and we are in need of a ladder rack and hard tonneau cover that can be bolted on and removed at the end of the lease. It will have the short bed and we will need to put an eight foot ladder on the rack. Can you send me information and costs on products you have? A manual roll up tonneau is preferred. Thank you

Hey Eric,

For your new 2027 Chevy Colorado, I suggest using the Truxedo Sentry Hard Cover Tonneau part # TX95NV. The Truxedo Sentry tonneau has 3/4" thick aluminum slats that are secured to heavy duty, leather grain vinyl to help keep any cardo in the truck bed secure. It also mounts inside the bed rails, which leaves the stake pockets open for a ladder rack. It's a clamp-on installation with no drilling required, so it can easily be removed when the lease is up on the truck.

For a ladder rack, I recommend using the Adarac Pro Series Custom Truck Bed Rack - black part # A86ZA. It an aluminum rack rated for 500lbs and fits models with or without factory bed cargo rails. The Adarac Pro series is an over the cab height rack so you can easily carry you 8ft ladder without worrying about it making contact with the cab. If you prefer a silver finish instead of a matte black, the Adarac Pro Series Custom Truck Bed Rack part # A76ZA is the same rack, with the same features, but silver instead. Both racks install without any drilling and mount into the stake pockets with the included hardware.

Thank you for the information. We will only be transporting ladders on the rack. Our company does not want anything hanging out to the bed of the truck, but the new vehicles they are supplying do not have long beds. I will discuss with my manager. Would the same products also work on a 2026/2027 Ford Ranger and 2024 Toyota Tacoma (we already have a leased Tacoma and may end up with the Ranger instead of the Colorado). Thanks.

@EricF No, the parts I recommended won't work with a 2026/2027 Ford Ranger or a 2024 Toyota Tacoma. What is the bed length for the Tacoma? And would it be another 5 1/2' bed for the Ford Ranger if you get that instead? I can pick some other options out for those vehicles once I know the bed length.

@EricF For a 2024 Toyota Tacoma with a 5' truck bed, the best option is the Fas-Top Pro Soft-Roll Up Truck Bed Tonneau Cover w/JayBar Truck Bed part # FT24CB. This product is the ladder rack and tonneau cover combined because they share the same mounting rails. The ladder rack is aluminum, rated for 400lbs and is taller than the cab so it can carry an 8' ladder. There weren't any hard roll up tonneaus available for this truck, but this one is the closest I could find because it's aluminum and vinyl instead of just vinyl. The whole system is no-drill and can easily be clamped on and removed when you need to. For a 2026 Ford Ranger, the only roll-up hard tonneau that is ladder rack compatible and no-drill installation is the BAK Revolver X4s Hard Tonneau Cover part # BAK33AV. For a no-drill, over the cab height ladder rack, I recommend using the Adarac Pro Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # A22ZA. If you get a 2027 Ford Ranger, this tonneau and ladder rack will also fit the 2027 model.
