DC To DC Charger For Batteries On Gooseneck Trailer

Question:

I need a 12 volt Dc powered 2 Bank battery charger for a gooseneck Deck over trailer that has 2 Deep cycle batteries on it!! 7way trailer plug Do you folks have one???

Hi Eric! To charge those batteries using your vehicle you're going to need a DC-to-DC charger. I recommend the 25-amp Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D. This will provide the proper charging output for your two deep cycle batteries, which you won't be able to get through the limited 12V charge circuit on a standard 7-way.

You will run a separate heavy-gauge power wire from the truck battery to the Redarc rather than powering it through the 7-way. You can add a quick-disconnect (like an Anderson connector) at the gooseneck so you can easily connect and disconnect the charging circuit along with the trailer.
