Hey Brittney!

I've confirmed with Thule that the Replacement Bike Adapter ezHitch Cup for Thule Bike Trailer and Stroller # 50103033 will work with your Thule Chariot Cross 2, so you'll be just fine to add that to your bike and stroller setup!

How many passengers are you going to be carrying? Do you plan on riding paths, gravel, or trails?

These cups re a perfect replacement for attaching the Thule trailer to your bike if you have a through axel on the bike. I bought one for my bike and one for my wife’s. No regrets.

@Greg Really awesome bikes! So you're mostly into mountain biking, then? I also ride, but every time I end up mountain biking, it's completely by accident due to getting overexcited and not researching my trails enough. Haha

Thanks Jerry! You were absolutely right. The ez hitch cup fit like a glove to the ball end point of my Thule Chariot 2. I have a Murf Gigi ebike and I noticed after towing my son for a short 15-20min ride that once we arrived back home the bolt on the adapter had loosened and the ex hitch cup was also noticeably extremely loose. The trailer stayed attached for the duration of the ride but since then I haven't rode out of fear of the trailer separating from the bike. I have a solid axle with an m12 adapter piece from Thule (#20201528 for M12 × 1.25) . Any suggestions on how to ensure the ez hitch stays attached to the adapter? Thanks so much!

@BrittneyM I'm sorry to hear that, especially with your son in the trailer! I definitely wouldn't tow with it again until the connection is staying tight. The grooves on the back of the # 50103033 should seat against the retaining/torque washer, and Thule specifies that the axle nut needs to have at least 5 full turns of thread engagement to provide enough clamping force. You'll also want to make sure any torque-support washer required by the Murf hub stays in place. Once everything is seated correctly, tighten the axle nut to Murf's recommended torque specification. I wasn't able to find a published torque spec for the Gigi on Murf's website, so I would reach out to Murf directly for that number rather than guessing on the torque. Since yours loosened after only a short ride, I would also have Murf or a local bike shop verify that the Thule M12 x 1.25 adapter # 20201528 is engaging enough threads and that the washer/adapter stack is correct before towing again.
