I recently purchased a motorhome. How much will it cost to be able to flat tow a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. Please, the most safe and economical. Bob

Hey Robert! The cost of flat towing is pretty high, but I can definitely help you put together a safe and economical list of parts. You will need a base plate, tow bar, safety cables, wiring, and a supplemental brake system. For your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 I recommend the following:

-Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267

-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25
-Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System # BLU37TR
-Blue Ox 12 Volt Power Outlet Kit # BLU33QV
The biggest savings are going to come from our tow bar and base plate kit. The tow bar includes safety cables and a built-in rise/drop so you won't need to pick those up separately.
The Roadmaster wiring is the most reliable, so I would choose it over other options even if the cost is a little higher. You want a reliable brake system as well. The Patriot is portable so if you end up switching vehicles you can easily carry it over.
