Question:

Is it ok if the base sections on the front bar rise off of the roof a quarter inch or so when tightened? The whole structure feels secure. Thanks!

Hi Ryan,

I checked the instructions for the Inno Square Bar Roof Rack part # IN78QR and it shows in the instructions that there should be slight gap between the base and the roof. It doesn't give an exact height for how much the gap should be, but a 1/4" does sound a little too high. I'd double check that the bases are mounted the correct distance, the front base should be 12 1/4" from the gap between the front and rear doors and the rear base should be 15 1/4" from the same gap. I've attached a photo of the diagram for the base placement and gap height and linked the instructions as well. Tighten the bars until they're secure but make sure not to overtighten them as well in case that's causing a larger gap.

What are you planning on carrying on your Inno bars? Kayaks? Cargo carrier?
