Is the Acclaim Tow Bar BX4330, compatible with the NSA Ready Brake System?

Hi Richard,

NSA's website states that the Ready Brake system will work with hitch receiver or coupler style tow bars of any brand. They do say that for a Blue Ox tow bar like the Blue Ox Acclaim Coupler Style Tow Bar part # BX4330 you may need their sling adapter to keep the cable from snagging on the Blue Ox tow bar's stow pin. The adapter will need to be sourced from NSA or someone else who carries it though.

What vehicle are you planning on flat towing using the Blue Ox Acclaim?

I've used the acclaim tow bar for years now and would have no other. So easy to connect and disconnect. And wow is it better than a tow dolly. RR

@RobertR I'm happy to hear you love the Acclaim tow bar so much! It is most definitely easier to hook up/disconnect when flat towing versus using a tow dolly. What vehicle do you have as your toad?

@RobertR Honda Fits are a toad we see a lot because of their light weight! Definitely a good car to have for a flat tow, Honda lasts forever too so it'll serve you well for many years to come!

I’ve used the towbar and been very pleased with the performance of this item. Very easy to hook our Kia Soul up and pull it down the road. Flat towing is MUCH EASIER than using a dolly trailer, I’ve done both.

@BillB I'm glad you've been loving this tow bar! It's for sure much easier to connect and disconnect from the tow bar than trying to load a vehicle on or off of a tow dolly. Did you switch vehicles so that you could flat tow? Or did you use to tow you Kia Soul on a tow dolly?

We had a Kia Forte when we purchased our motorhome. The Forte had an automatic transmission so we sold it and purchased a 2019 Kia Soul. 2019 was the last year a Soul was available with a manual transmission. I was careful to check etrailer before we bought a vehicle because I wanted to be sure I could get a base bar. (Full disclosure, I had to purchase the base bar from someone else, y’all had this item on back order, I did buy every other component from etrailer.

@BillB I'm glad you checked before switching vehicles! Unless you're specifically wanting to flat tow, not everyone thinks about checking that the vehicle can be flat towed. No worries about the base bar! I'm glad you were able to get everything you need to get towing!
