Question:

Hi, I have a Ram 1500 V8 Hemi with a max towing capacity of 8,100 lbs. I am towing a single axle 20 Grand Design Serenova 160LG travel trailer with MORyde independent suspension that has a GVWR of 5,400. Which Fastway e2 WDH do you think would work best for my setup? The 6k, 8k or 10k? Thank you for your help...Mike

Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out. The correct Fastway e2 Weight Distribution hitch for your Grand Design Serenova 160LG will completely depend on the loaded tongue weight. The total tongue weight should be about 10%-15% of the GVWR so based on that math you should be about the 600-800 lb range once you are fully loaded.

For that weight, the 8K Fastway system # FA92-00-0800 will be the best option. This is for trailers with a tongue weight between 400 and 800 lbs and it sounds like you'll be right within that range. That means you'll get the ride leveling and sway control you are looking for.

The total tongue weight can vary depending on how the trailer is loaded, so I do suggest you hit up a weigh station once you have the trailer loaded so you can get that total weight. That or if you have access to a tongue weight scale like part # BTBRV49FR you can use that to get an accurate tongue weight reading. I imagine you will be within that 600-800 lb range, but I do recommend checking that before ordering anything.
