Hey Melissa! Fogatti lists an indoor noise level of 52 dB for the InstaCool systems, which is generally considered a moderate noise level similar to a quiet office. While everyone's sensitivity to sound is different, that should give you a good point of reference when comparing rooftop air conditioners.

The InstaCool has four selectable fan speeds, so once your RV reaches your desired temperature, you can reduce the airflow instead of continuing to run it on high. You'll still hear a rooftop air conditioner when it's mounted directly above the bed, but being able to turn the fan speed down can make it more comfortable while you're settling in for the night.
