Updated 07/27/2026 | Published 07/22/2026

Question:

I need some help in picking the correct replacement springs for a boat trailer I purchased recently, the tag says Gvwr 4400 and Gawr all axles 2200. 2” square tube axles the front leafs are single 26 1/4” eye to eye and the rear ones are newer 3 leaf 25 1/4” eye to eye. The tires are rubbing to fenders when it is on any incline. Help

Hey Randy, thanks for all the details! That makes it easy to know that the correct replacement spring for your boat trailer would be the part # e66SR. This is a 2,500 lb axle leaf spring that is slightly shorter than what you have now at 28-1/8 inch. It's normal for springs to stretch and flatten over time so going with a new on that is slightly shorter is the correct move. Is the tire rubbing on fenders due to worn out springs?
